Even though Minecraft is a game of infinite possibilities, sometimes you need to log out current account.
Maybe you’ve created a new account because you forgot your old account login name.
Perhaps you want to switch to a different account because you want to team up with a friend in Java Edition, and you were playing Bedrock Edition.
Or perhaps, your life has reached a point where you no longer play the Minecraft game because you’ve got more important things to do (yeah, I’m not buying it!).
Regardless of the reason, logging out of Minecraft on any device is incredibly easy and quick.

How to Log Out of Minecraft directly from the Minecraft Launcher
The easiest way to log out of Minecraft is from the launcher.
Click on your Microsoft account in the top left corner of the screen, and click Log out from the drop-down menu:

How to Log Out of Minecraft on Windows From Your Microsoft Account
Minecraft Windows and Java Edition have used the same Minecraft launcher since Microsoft acquired Minecraft from Mojang.
So, to log out of either of them on your PC, follow the below steps.
1. Click on the Settings button in the Minecraft Launcher.
Open the Minecraft Launcher and click settings in the lower left corner:

2. Click on the Accounts tab

3. Click on the three dots to the right of your account name
Click the three dots and choose Manage account from the dropdown menu. This will open a web browser and take you to your Xbox account.

4. Click on Sign Out at the top right corner of the screen

When you open Minecraft again, it will prompt you to sign in.
It is important to note that you will need a Microsoft Account to play Minecraft. The old Minecraft accounts (Mojang account logins) no longer work.

How to Log Out of Minecraft Bedrock Edition
To log out of Minecraft Bedrock Edition on most devices, follow these steps:
- Pause the game (by pressing the “Esc” key on your keyboard or the pause button on your controller.)
- Look for the “Settings” option in the pause menu and select it.
- In the settings menu, look for the “Profile” option and select it.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the profile menu, and you should see an option to “Sign Out.”
- Select “Sign Out” and confirm that you want to sign out of your Microsoft account.
The steps may vary slightly on some devices, such as consoles or mobile devices. However, the general process should be similar.

How to Log Out of Minecraft PE on your mobile device
While Minecraft Mobile often gets some heat from the general community, it is still popular and has a dedicated fan base. But we all have to put our phones down sometimes!
Follow the below steps to log out of Minecraft PE on your Android phone, IOS, or Kindle Fire.
- Open Minecraft.
- Navigate to the “Settings” menu.
- Click on “Profile.”
- Locate “Sign out of your Microsoft Account” and press the “Sign-out button.”
- Restart Minecraft.
- You will now be prompted to sign in with another account.
How to Log Out of Minecraft Playstation
If you play Minecraft on a console, follow the below steps to log out of Minecraft on PlayStation. These steps also work for signing out of Minecraft on the Nintendo Switch.
- Open Minecraft.
- Navigate to “Settings” and click on “Profile.”
- Choose “Sign out of Microsoft Account” from the options.
- You will now be signed out of Minecraft.
Signing back into Minecraft PlayStation is a bit more complex, so follow the below steps to sign back in if you need to.
- Open Minecraft.
- Navigate to “Settings” and click on “Profile.”
- Choose “Sign in for Free!”
- Go to aka.ms/remoteconnect and input the alphanumeric code you were given on your settings page.
- Enter your Microsoft account settings to sign back in.
How to Log Out of Minecraft Xbox
Logging out of Minecraft on Xbox accounts is just as easy on PlayStation but does not have a complicated sign-in process.
Follow the below steps to log out.
- If you have Minecraft open, close it before continuing the sign-out process.
- Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
- From the options available, choose “Profile & System.”
- Click on “Sign Out.”
- You will now be logged out of your Minecraft account on Xbox.
How to Delete Your Minecraft Account
If you decide that you no longer want or need your Minecraft account, follow the below steps to delete your Minecraft account.
Note that this is done on the Minecraft website, not the game itself. In other words, open your web browser of choice and then follow the steps below.
WARNING: Since Minecraft and Microsoft are linked, the only way to delete the Minecraft account is by deleting the Microsoft account. Only do this if you have saved or backed up any data in the account.
- Sign in to Minecraft with your Microsoft account.
- Click on “Profile.”
- At the bottom of the page, select “Change account settings on Microsoft.com.”
- After your Microsoft account is opened, click on “Your Info.”
- Go to the bottom and select “How to Close Your Account.”
- Follow the steps and choose when you want the account to be deleted.
- Finalize it by clicking “Mark account for Closure.”
If you want to play Minecraft again after you’ve deleted your account, you must create a different Microsoft account and a new account name using a new email address.
