Gathering the Necessary Materials
Materials:
- 6 White Wool
- 1 Stick
- 2 Red Dye
- 1 Blue Dye
- 1 White Dye
When setting to make the American flag in Minecraft, you need several materials before beginning the crafting process: wool, dye, a loom, and one singular stick.
It is easy enough to get everything, but if you have never crafted a loom or used one below, don’t worry.
I’ll teach you how to make and use it, and you’ll be a pro at it in no time.
Luckily, gathering everything necessary for this project is easy unless you plan to make a ton of these banners.
If that is the case, I highly recommend setting up a sheep farm so you can get all of the wool necessary to make banners.
Also, having a beetroot and a mob farm can help provide the red and white dye. Beetroots can be found in villages, and YouTube is an excellent source for mob farm tutorials. Simply pick one that you like and then follow it!
For the last item, blue dye, you will need to go mining to get enough lapis lazuli to make the blue dye, but at least it is fairly common in Minecraft. Good luck!
Getting the Dye

To make the American flag banner, you need three types of dye: white, blue, and red. Dye can be made by placing the items below in your crafting menu. You can use the following materials to make each type of dye:
White Dye:
- Bone Meal
- Lily of the Valley
Red Dye:
- Poppy
- Rose Bush
- Red Tulip
- Beetroot
Blue Dye:
- Lapis Lazuli

Crafting the Banner
The next thing you need to do before making the actual American flag banner is craft a blank banner that will act as your banner’s base.
While white is the base color for this banner, you can use black dye to make your own banner pattern that is different from everyone else. Have fun with it and experiment with different dyes!

2. Place six wool blocks in the top two rows

Once you have gathered the banner, dye, and loom, it is time to craft your soon-to-be American flag banner.

1. Place the banner inside the loom with the blue dye and scroll down till you find the brick pattern. Select that and take the banner out
2. Put the banner back in the loom along with the red dye. Select the half-bottom banner pattern.
3. Next, you want to select the half-side pattern before removing the banner.
4. Finally, put the banner in the loom alongside the white dye. Select the stripes pattern, and there you go! You now have an American Flag banner!
Now that you have your banner, you’ve gotta do something with it, and while one is fun, you will likely need many more for building projects. Copy-paste the process to make more identical banners if you need.

Whether playing on a server with friends or in a single-player world, having a base that can withstand the hordes of monsters that seek your demise is vital.
But why just have a basic fort when you can slap some flags on it and even bigger TNT cannons on the walls? What a fantastic way to show everyone who is the true power on the server.
American Home
Let’s be honest, any Minecraft home can be an American home if you put up the American Flag, but at the very least, it should be a modern house.
That means mining in the Nether to get a ton of quartz and using more glass than is recommended. If you think there are enough windows, you have not gone far enough. Put more!
Making a Giant American Flag
While this technically doesn’t use the American Flag banner, why only make a small one when you can make one that will overshadow the world and fill the Minecraft skies with the sight of red, blue, and white?
The point of this build is to be as over the top as possible simply, so get ready to use hundreds of different-colored pieces of wool for this build.
The only limit is the time you want to put into this, and you could make some massive flags.
