Minecraft villagers have many jobs ranging from the humble farmer villagers growing food to the rich weaponsmith supplying his local town with the tools and weapons needed to survive the harsh Overworld.
While the weaponsmith normally only supplies his fellow villagers, you can get your hands on various useful items if you visit him.

What and Who is the Weaponsmith Villager?
The weaponsmith villager is one of the most important villagers in the Minecraft world, as they will trade items like multiple enchanted iron and diamond weapons.
Considering how easy it can be to get large amounts of emeralds from trading with villagers, you can get access to diamond swords or diamond axes early on.
He will also trade emeralds for coal or iron ingots, allowing you to turn a large coal supply into diamond weapons.
Minecraft may not be similar to the real world, but it does let you turn coal into diamonds.

Turning Unemployed Villagers into Weaponsmith Villagers
Now that you know what the Weaponsmith villager can do, it is time to learn how to turn unemployed villagers into weaponsmiths.
There are multiple methods of acquiring an unemployed villager, but regardless of how you get one, they can become a weaponsmith from the grindstone.
The grindstone is the job block site for weaponsmiths, and fortunately, it is not very expensive to craft.

Once you have crafted the grindstone, you must find an unemployed villager to force them to become a weaponsmith or destroy another villager’s utility block to turn them into an unemployed villager.
After finding the unemployed villager or using one of the various methods (explained below) to spawn one, place the grindstone within a 10-block radius of the villager. This will make it easier for them to find it and decrease their chances of ignoring it.
Note: You can not turn a nitwit villager into a weaponsmith or any other one of the Minecraft villager jobs, and their green robes let you easily recognize them.

It does not matter what type of wood planks you use to craft the grindstone; you can even mix and match wooden planks when making the grindstone.
How to Spawn Unemployed Villagers
Villages are the easiest way to find unemployed villagers to force them to work for you, but sometimes you don’t want to be bothered going to a village.
If so, you can use the methods below to spawn villagers without visiting a natural-occurring village.

Transforming a Zombie Villager
if you cannot find a village for some reason, you can transform zombie villagers into regular villagers through a short process.
Follow the below steps to turn the vicious biting zombie villager into a peaceful villager you can force to sell you iron swords.
- Capture a zombie village and place them in a cage. Ensure there is a roof. Otherwise, it will burn up during the day.
- Throw a splash potion of weakness on the zombie villager.
- Feed it a golden apple by right-clicking on it.
- It should begin to shake as red swirls come off of it.
- Wait several minutes, and then a new unemployed villager will be formed.
Another plus to using this method is that you can get an achievement on both Bedrock Edition and Java Edition.
Breeding Villagers and Raising Baby Villagers
Once you have two or more villagers, you can breed them together and spawn baby villagers.
These baby villagers are more likely to automatically assume their parent’s role if a free job site block is available. It is important to note, though, that while breeding villagers can seem complicated, it is much easier than it seems.
Follow the steps below to breed two villagers and slowly build your villager army.

You will first need to find an empty villager home or build one yourself. It is important that the building has enough beds present inside for the villagers to claim after being born.
At the bare minimum, you need three beds, one for each of the parents and one for the baby. However, you can place as many beds as you want, and the villagers will continue to breed until each bed has been claimed.
To breed two villagers together after you have the structure built and the beds placed, you must give them either three loaves of bread, twelve carrots, twelve beetroots, or twelve potatoes.
Once they receive the food, they will enter breeding mode, and before you know it, a new baby villager will spawn. Before the baby villager can be given a job, you have to wait around five minutes for it to grow up.
Using Console Commands
The final way to spawn villagers without visiting a natural village is to use the /spawn console command.
You can only use this method if you have cheats enabled, though there is a way around this if you did not initially create your world with cheats.
All you have to do is Enable LAN from the pause menu and enable cheats from the present options.
With cheats enabled, to spawn a villager type the following into the command line:
/spawn minecraft:villager
You can add coordinates at the end of the command if you want. Otherwise, simply execute it to spawn a villager where you are standing.
